Why Regenerative Parenting?

We do everything we can to provide support for our children. But who is supporting us? Parenting in this culture often comes at a cost to our own mental and physical well-being. Regenerative Parenting breaks this cycle of exhaustion and desperation by re-imagining models of family and community and putting systems in place that support and nourish child, parent, community and planet.

Today’s lifestyle throws just about every obstacle possible in the path of new parents. Little or no paid parental leave and poor postnatal care are compounded by mommy wars, increasing social and physical isolation, and a dysfunctional education system. Many of us lack the grandmothers and elders who in previous generations passed down essential information on caring for the young as well as the helping hands of a strong, close-knit community. But parenting doesn’t have to be the exhausting, bewildering and lonely experience that it so often is in our culture. Regenerative Parenting leads us to a positive, more supported lifestyle where both child and parent are nourished.
